About Djaylan & Ken
Working with one-of-a-kind rocks is our hobby, and we choose to share our passion through this business. Ken started at 12 years old going fishing at Mud Lake, while he was fishing, he collected agates and petrified wood from the surrounding hills and stored them in a large wooden crate in the loft in his parents barn. At age 30 his folks sold the farm and told him he needed to do something with the rocks in the loft which began his adult passion into rock hounding.
Djaylan's rock collecting hobby started after going yard sailing in Corvallis OR, where a college student had a five gallon bucket of display pieces and it fit her budget. Since then she has always been on the look out for pretty rocks in what is known as "Urban Rock Hounding". One of her prize acquisitions is over half a ton of rough Swazi agates from Mozambique which are currently her favorite stone to cut and polish.
